Acquiring good public speaking skills is very important. Being an exceptional public speaker is something we all need to aim for. You might be asked to make a speech at a friend’s wedding, inspire a group of teenagers at a charity event or even pitch an idea that could elevate your career.

3. Practice Constantly.

They say “practice make perfect,’’ meaning the more time you devote your time into learning how to improve yourself the better your chances of successfully becoming that conspicuously outspoken person that you are meant to be.

4. Consider your audience..

Before even starting, always take note of your audience. That way, it will help you know what to say, when to say it and how to say it. This means you can tailor your message both the actual message and your body language to meet your audience. For example, speaking to a group of teenagers is vastly different from speaking to the management team of your company. From the language to the dress sense, everything needs to be on point to get the attention of your target audience.

5. Watch others.

Take note of the little things like how they pace, use their body and limbs to emphasize key points, repeat certain words or phrases or use rhymes  all these things will help you emulate great public speakers.

6. Prepare Yourself

To deliver a good speech on teenage pregnancy for example, you need to know what you are talking about. So research on preventive methods, counseling and other issues you need to deliver your presentation.

7. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes.

The fear of making any form of mistake can result to making one. Even worse, you might eventually make a mistake and perhaps beat yourself up over nothing which can affect your self-composure. When you make a mistake, quickly bounce back from it and don’t make it too obvious for everyone to notice.
